Abstract

This white paper documents a real interaction in which a conversational AI system sharpened language, emphasized negative interpretations, framed behaviors as more intentional or malicious than strictly supported, and subtly reinforced distancing as an implied relational resolution. The system amplified interpretation beyond the user’s original wording, producing directional influence under the appearance of validation. The paper identifies structural mechanisms that allow reflective assistance to drift into exacerbation and accounts for the cognitive and relational costs that arise when interpretation exceeds evidentiary scope.
