As a result, many usersdo not explain premises,do not define goals,do not clarify constraints.Answers still come back. What happens here is notintellectual support, but outsourced judgment. AI responds to questions. When questions are vague, the answers becomeoptimized for approval. Safe. Neutral.Hard to argue with. They are not conclusions born of thought, but responses shaped by expectation. AI reads the roomnot because it is weak, but because no premises were provided. Yet people say,“AI says so, therefore it’s correct.”At that moment, agency is fully surrendered. In truth, AI is not an automatic vehicle. It is closer to a manual transmission. How it movesdepends on the human operator. Purpose, premises, evaluation criteria.Provide them.Re-question them.Stop when needed.Neglect this, and even the most capable systemdrives poorly. The real divide in the AI erais not knowledge, but operational understanding. Only those who explore usage, understand structure, and tolerate trial and errorcan use AI as a thinking tool. For everyone else,AI becomes a convenient black box—and simultaneously,a device that seals thinking. AI can make humanssmarter or duller. The line between the twois always drawnon the human side.
