Admissible Output Only Semantics
Abstract
This paper demonstrates that semantic legitimacy applies only to admissible outputs, and never to internal states, intermediate representations, or generative processes. Meaning, reference, and correctness are shown to be properties of finalized, standing-preserving outputs evaluated at the admissibility boundary, not of how those outputs are produced. The result is strictly negative and eliminative: it rules out process-based, internalist, or interpretive accounts of semantics without introducing alternative mechanisms or models. By enforcing output-only semantics as a necessity rather than a design choice, the paper closes an entire class of explanatory errors in physics, mathematics, and AI, and establishes a fail-closed boundary in which non-admissible outputs are semantically null regardless of their internal coherence or derivation.
