Reformed: Psychology in Policy, Practice & Public Mindset — Turning Rules into Habits, Habits into Culture
Abstract
Across the world, governments design laws, safety mandates, public health campaigns and social programs with strong rational foundations. Yet most of these fail not because the ideas are bad, but because people interpret, live, and feel them differently. This research introduces a radical yet evidence-backed proposition: Embed psychological expertise —especially Clinical Psychology and Counselling Psychology — within the government at every stage of rule-making, policy rollout and public engagement. The goal is not just compliance with laws, but deep cultural internalization — turning rules into habits, habits into values, andvalues into second nature.
