Psalm 77 The Way of the Open Heart
Abstract
Psalm 77 “Softly falls the snow” reflects on the transformation of matter and meaning through a poetic-theological lens. Beginning with images of stillness and cosmic origin, the text traces a movement from stardust to water, from dispersion to form, and from material fragility to spiritual presence. Drawing on cosmology, elemental imagery, and Christological reference, the psalm presents water as the true bearer of life and as a locus of divine strength. The poem deliberately balances scientific imagination with theological insight, retaining moments of linguistic foreignness where they carry meaning rather than convention.
