Quest for Holistic Wellbeing: An Examination of the Effect Of Social Media on Family, Community, and Faith
Abstract
In a time marked by fast technological growth and constant digital connection, the basic structures of family, community, and faith are changing significantly. This paper looks at how these traditional anchors change, endure, and reaffirm their importance as sources of overall well-being in the digital age. Using ideas from different fields like digital sociology, theology, and psychology, the study examines how online spaces are changing relationship dynamics, spiritual expression, and community belonging. While technology often divides attention and promotes disconnection, it also offers new ways for spiritual practice, community involvement, and family interaction that go beyond physical limits. The research highlights real experiences from various cultural and religious backgrounds, showing how digital platforms help maintain ties across generations, build faith identities, and foster collective strength. Special attention is given to the balance between individual choice and community continuity, showing how digital tools can support and challenge our deep need for connection. The study concludes by suggesting a model of well-being in the digital age that emphasizes deep relationships, spiritual foundation, and ethical involvement in both online and offline spaces. It argues that the changing relationship between technology, tradition, and transcendence creates opportunities for rethinking holistic flourishing in modern life.
