Gravitational Classification of Sports Disciplines: Biomechanical Foundations of Resistance to the Force of Earth's Gravity
Abstract
This study presents a gravitational classification of sports disciplines based on biomechanical principles. It proposes that all forms of human movement represent resistance to Earth's gravity. The classification identifies key biomechanical mechanisms underlying sport performance. The main types of gravitational interaction are distinguished. Each category reflects a unique form of muscular work and gravitational control. The model unifies athletic, game, and combat sports within one physical framework. It establishes gravity as a universal factor in human motor activity. Applications include sports biomechanics, physical education, rehabilitation, and space medicine. The proposed system enhances understanding of human adaptation to gravitational force. It provides a universal biomechanical foundation for future theoretical and applied research. Keywords: gravity; sport classification; biomechanics; physical education; resistance to gravity; sports disciplines; motor activity.
