Lawmadi OS (LDOS) — Legal Decision Operating System
Abstract
Lawmadi OS (LDOS) is a deterministic Legal Decision Operating System designed to convert legal anxiety into actionable logic through computable trust. Unlike traditional legal AI systems that rely on stored databases or LLM inference, LDOS operates as a finite-state-machine (FSM) kernel that generates cryptographically verifiable decisions by assembling live evidence from authoritative legal APIs (e.g., Korean National Law Information Center DRF). The system is governed by five non-negotiable constitutional principles: (1) SSOT (Single Source of Truth) — all evidence from official APIs only, no permanent storage or dataset replication(2) Zero Inference — no legal hallucination or fabrication of citations, case numbers, or legal facts(3) Fail-Closed — halt immediately on verification failure, never serve unverified legal conclusions(4) Live Evidence — real-time validation with temporal consistency checks (effective dates, amendments, repeals)(5) Deterministic Boundary — FSM-controlled state transitions with cryptographic reproducibility (Ed25519 signatures, SHA-256 hashing) Key Technical Innovations:- Leader Swarm Routing Engine: Domain-specific expert consensus with weighted voting- Decision Graph Formal Semantics: FACT_NODE, ISSUE_NODE, LAW_NODE, PRECEDENT_NODE relationships with validity conditions- Cryptographic Decision Tokens: Reproducible audit trails with input hash + evidence hash + graph hash → Ed25519 signature- Temporal Law Validity Engine: Automatic detection of repealed statutes, unconstitutional clauses, and precedent changes- Constitution DSL: Runtime-enforced policy rules (e.g., "IF evidence.source != OFFICIAL_API THEN reject_decision") Competitive Positioning:Unlike existing legal AI systems that serve stale/best-guess data, LDOS implements a fail-closed architecture that refuses to output unverified conclusions. The system prioritizes correctness over convenience, making it suitable for high-stakes decision support where legal accuracy is paramount. Applications:- Legal technology and regulatory compliance systems- Decision intelligence research- Explainable AI (XAI) and constitutional AI studies- Legal knowledge graph construction- Regulatory technology (RegTech) infrastructure This is a public/sanitized showcase for evaluation and academic citation purposes. ⚠️ LICENSE NOTICE:This software is licensed under the Lawmadi OS Comprehensive Proprietary License v2.0.0 (NOT Creative Commons).Full license terms: https://github.com/peter120525-cmd/Lawmadi-Public/blob/main/LICENSE Permitted: View, read, locally run for non-production evaluation, and academic citation with attribution.Prohibited: AI training (LLM fine-tuning, RLHF, RAG indexing), competitive reimplementation, commercial deployment without written permission.
