From the discovery and development of medicines to their formulation, dispensing, and rational use, pharmacists play a crucial role in improving patient outcomes and public health. A strong foundation in general pharmacy is therefore essential for every pharmacy student and early-career professional. Textbook of General Pharmacy has been carefully designed to serve as a comprehensive and student-friendly resource for undergraduate pharmacy programs. This book systematically covers the fundamental concepts of pharmacy, beginning with the evolution and scope of the profession, pharmacopoeias, prescriptions, and pharmaceutical calculations, and extending to detailed discussions on various dosage forms including solid, liquid, semisolid preparations, tablets, capsules, and suppositories. The content is aligned with the current syllabus requirements and presented in a clear, structured, and easy-to-understand manner. One of the strengths of this textbook is the collective contribution from experienced academicians and subject experts from diverse areas of pharmacy. Each chapter has been authored with an emphasis on conceptual clarity, practical relevance, and examination orientation, making the book useful not only for learning but also for revision and self-assessment. The contributors have made sincere efforts to present accurate, up-to-date, and ethically sound content.
