Abstract

This record contains the GenAI Adoption Index – Sweden 2026, a national, data-driven assessment of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) adoption across Swedish organizations. The index is constructed exclusively from publicly accessible data published by Swedish government agencies, European Union institutions, and established research organizations. It evaluates GenAI adoption across both the public and private sectors, covering experimental use as well as production-level deployments. The primary focus year is 2026, with trend context from 2023–2025. GenAI adoption is defined as the organizational use of generative AI systems—such as large language models, image generation models, and code generation tools—for operational, administrative, analytical, or decision-support purposes. The report introduces a reproducible adoption scoreboard and analyzes adoption patterns by organization size, industry, and use-case category. It also examines governance practices, perceived risks, and barriers to scaling. The dataset, methodological documentation, and future updates of the GenAI Adoption Index are maintained by Alice Labs as part of its ongoing work in applied artificial intelligence research and organizational automation.
