Abstract

This document provides a practical entry point for coaches and practitioners encountering Distributed Spiral Learning (DSL) for the first time. It is designed to help coaches understand what a DSL session looks and feels like in practice, what problems the framework is intended to address, and how to begin using it without needing to read the full theoretical or architectural documentation in advance. The introduction focuses on session flow, safety conditions, grouping and regrouping, energy management, and the coach’s role in holding structure, rather than on theory or justification. It is intended to reduce uncertainty and cognitive load for new adopters, and to support confident first use. This document does not replace the Distributed Spiral Learning White Paper, Practice Guidelines, or Practitioner Field Guide. Instead, it provides orientation and signposting, helping coaches decide which supporting documents to engage with next depending on their needs and experience.
