Abstract

This dataset and accompanying code provide full replication materials for a panel-data econometric study investigating the effects of implementation gaps in globalisation on sustainable development outcomes across more than 200 countries from 2000 to 2023. The analysis differentiates between de jure and de facto globalisation, operationalising their divergence as a normalised index of implementation gaps across economic, social, and political dimensions. The materials include panel regression models using two-way fixed effects, GMM estimations to address endogeneity, governance-moderated threshold regressions, goal-level disaggregation, and latent class clustering. The dataset compiles SDG scores, KOF globalisation indicators, governance metrics, and control variables. Contents: economic_diplomacy_sdg_panel.xlsx: Cleaned panel dataset (2000–2023) replication_part1_diagnostics_fixed.py: Preliminary diagnostics and data setup replication_part2_estimation_fixed.py: Main econometric estimation models (TWFE, GMM, thresholds) replication_part3_gmm_lca_robustness_fixed.py: Robustness checks and latent class clustering
