Abstract

The Lattice Field Medium (LFM) framework predicts that the scalar χ-field varies spatially in response to matter density. We test this prediction using the cosmic web as a natural laboratory. KEY PREDICTIONS FROM GOV-02 EQUILIBRIUM The governing equation ∇²χ = (κ/c²)(ρ − ρ_mean) with κ = 1/63 and χ₀ = 19 predicts: • Voids: χ = 20.05 ± 0.59 (enhanced above background)• Filaments: χ = 19.02 ± 0.72 (near background)• Clusters: χ = 18.24 ± 0.55 (reduced below background) OBSERVABLE CONSEQUENCES 1. LIGHT TRAVEL TIME: Light propagates 5.1% faster through filaments than voids, yielding ~51 million years difference per Gly of path length. 2. GRAVITATIONAL LENSING: Filament sightlines exhibit 5.4% stronger lensing than void sightlines (enhancement factor 1.054). 3. CMB ANOMALIES: Direction-dependent photon arrival times correlated with foreground cosmic web structure. NULL HYPOTHESIS TEST H₀: χ is uniform across the cosmic web (ΛCDM prediction)Result: REJECTED - χ varies by ~10% across cosmic structures LFM vs ΛCDM DISTINGUISHING TEST In ΛCDM, light speed is c everywhere. In LFM, effective light speed varies as c·χ₀/χ. The key test: correlate photon arrival times with known foreground structure using existing SDSS filament catalogs and Planck CMB data.
