Twenty years of robberies in Italy: a changing picture

The picture that emerges from the analysis of data on robberies per 1,000 inhabitants from 2004 to2023 in the different Italian regions is complex and layered, marked by very different territorialdynamics. Although the national trend shows a substantial reduction in robbery incidents in mostregions, there are also countervailing situations, with significant increases that indicate how criminalphenomena are deeply linked to the socio-economic fabric and to specific local realities.
