Thesis Title The Five-Fold Value Differentiation Subtitle A Qualitative Revision of National Accounting and the Deconstruction of "Damaging Growth".
Abstract
AbstractModern macroeconomics (SNA) is "value-neutral," treating all monetary transactions as positive contributions to GDP. This paper argues that such an approach is fundamentally flawed. By defining Labor as a function of Subjective Need, this thesis proposes a Five-Fold Value Taxonomy. It categorizes economic activity into three "Positive Value" types (Tangible, Long-term Service, Short-term Service) and two "Negative Value" types (Damaging Fraud, Damaging Plunder). Using the "Goldman Paradox" and the South Korean "Restaurant Crisis" as case studies, this paper demonstrates how an obsession with quantitative growth masks the physical destruction of a nation's foundational tangible value.________________________________________Chapter I: The Ontological Foundation of Labor and Value• 1.1 The Definition of Labor: Labor is a purposeful activity strictly aimed at satisfying needs. In the absence of a need, no true "labor" (in an economic sense) is generated; there is only a wasteful expenditure of energy.• 1.2 The Subjectivity of Value: Value is not an intrinsic property of an object but a subjective concept arising from tradeable demand.• 1.3 The Realization of Value: Value is only "realized" through the process of repeated bargaining (Bargaining Theory). Without the buyer's participation in price discovery, "value" remains a hypothetical "Seller’s Asking Price."Chapter II: The Five-Fold Differentiation of Value• 2.1 The Positive Spectrum (Foundational Growth):o Type 1: Tangible Value (Physical Foundation): The production of physical goods. This is the Base upon which all other values depend.o Type 2: Long-term Service Value: Systems that enhance future productivity (Education, Healthcare, R&D).o Type 3: Short-term Service Value: Immediate satisfaction of utility (Dining, Entertainment, Art).• 2.2 The Negative Spectrum (Systemic Erosion):o Type 4: Damaging Fraud: Monetary gain achieved through deception or informational asymmetry (e.g., "Air" GDP, fabricated financial instruments).o Type 5: Damaging Plunder: Wealth extraction that actively harms the productive capacity of the counterparty (e.g., predatory debt, excessive seigniorage, rent-seeking).Chapter III: The Hierarchy of Values and the "Tangible Base"• 3.1 Tangible Value as the Absolute Constraint: This chapter argues that Type 1 (Tangible Value) is the physical prerequisite for Types 2 through 5.• 3.2 The Collapse of the Superstructure: When the "Negative Values" (4 & 5) grow too large, they begin to cannibalize the Tangible Base. Once the base shrinks, the "Aesthetic" and "Service" values (2 & 3) undergo an immediate and catastrophic "survival contraction."Chapter IV: Case Study - The South Korean "Restaurant Paradox"• 4.1 The Illusion of the "Miracle": Analyzing how Korea maintained high GDP while the foundational restaurant economy faced systemic desolation.• 4.2 Seigniorage and the Interception of Labor Appreciation: Applying the model to show how the government intercepted the "appreciation code" of labor through debt expansion (Plunder), leading to a collapse in "Food Aesthetics" and eventually, the population (Demographic Collapse).Chapter V: The Goldman Paradox - A Critique of Mathematical Betrayal• 5.1 Calculating the "Negative": Why Goldman Sachs’ 5% growth projection is a mathematical fraud. It records the expansion of Type 4 (Fraud) and Type 5 (Plunder) as positive increments.• 5.2 The Credibility Mandate: Proposing a new accounting standard where "Damaging Values" are subtracted from, rather than added to, the national GDP.________________________________________Conclusion: Returning to "Human-Centric" EconomicsThe thesis concludes that the goal of a "Smart Government" should be to discover new tradeable needs and protect the foundational tangible value. When a system prioritizes the "Auction of Air" over the "Satisfaction of Need," it is no longer an economy; it is a mechanism of civilizational liquidation.
