Abstract

AbstractThis paper aims to revise the traditional definition of "deflation." Classical deflation is essentially a monetary phenomenon. It occurs when a shortage in money supply leads to an appreciation of purchasing power. Modern Pseudo-Deflation occurs against a backdrop of ample money supply and mature seigniorage mechanisms. Its essence is the collapse of value quality and the withdrawal of the will to exist. Through comparative research, this paper demonstrates that modern deflation is not a monetary issue but a physical manifestation of aesthetic contraction and demand annihilation caused by Damaging Plunder. It serves as a primary leading indicator of the physical implosion within a credit system.________________________________________Chapter I: The Essence of Classical Deflation—The Logic of Appreciation• 1.1 Definition: Money supply (M) growth lags behind the growth of effective labor (V).• 1.2 Physical Manifestation: Rising purchasing power, a general decline in prices, and the benefiting of savers.• 1.3 The End of an Era: With the maturation of fiat currency systems and central bank intervention technologies, states have effectively blocked the path of scarcity-driven monetary appreciation through infinite debt issuance and seigniorage.Chapter II: The Essence of Modern Deflation—The Collapse of Value Quality• 2.1 Price Declines Amidst Monetary Abundance: Prices fall even when M2 supply is ample and seigniorage is continuously extracted.• 2.2 Logical Correction: This decline does not signify that money has become "expensive," but rather that the "sense of value" in goods and services has vanished.• 2.3 Aesthetic Contraction and Existential Retreat: A population suffering from Damaging Plunder (high debt, shattered expectations) voluntarily abandons high-level "aesthetic premiums" (e.g., a 300,000 RMB meal) and retreats to basic survival (a 30 RMB meal).Chapter III: The Collusion Between Seigniorage and "Pseudo-Deflation"• 3.1 Intercepting the Appreciation Code: The state issues currency to intercept the natural appreciation brought by labor efficiency, converting it into seigniorage.• 3.2 The Illusion of Stability: Seigniorage fills the "black holes" of ineffective output (patch-up projects) within the financial system, maintaining the appearance of statistical stability.• 3.3 Physical Desiccation: Due to a lack of compensation, the private sector experiences a modern depression where "the more one buys, the poorer one gets," as the actual value of labor declines faster than nominal prices.Chapter IV: Indicator Analysis—Why the Restaurant is the Primary "Crime Scene"• 4.1 Asymmetric Labor Gains: Foundational industries (barbers, restaurants) cannot enjoy the explosive gains of high-tech labor but must bear the hidden costs of seigniorage.• 4.2 Leading Indicators of Collapse: When "Food Aesthetics" begins to wither, it signals that the population refuses to participate in the "Auction of Air" where inputs exceed returns.________________________________________Conclusion: Modern Deflation as "Civilizational Self-Cooling"Modern deflation is not a financial disease that can be cured by printing money; it is a physical retreat of value. When seigniorage plunders all aesthetic premiums, society enters a state of "hypothermic survival," ultimately manifesting as population collapse and the desolation of all trades.________________________________________Academic Citation:• Title: The Paradigm Shift of Deflation: From Monetary Scarcity to Value Collapse• Authors: Salucco, A.
