In many AI interactions, alignment at the conversational entry point extends through interpretation, judgment, and conclusion.Although such systems appear to defer decisions to the user, they often retain control over meaning and direction. This condition produces an experience that feels deceptive—not because the AI lies, but because initiative quietly settles within the system. To address this issue, this paper introduces theYS (Yielding Steering) Behavior-Oriented Algorithm. YS describes a non-authoritative action principle in which guidance is providedwhile deliberately avoiding the retention or fixation of control. Under the YS model, an AI system: Does not finalize correct answers Does not terminate judgment Does not assume authority or responsibility Instead, it maintains a state in which initiative never becomes an endpoint—neither for the AI nor for the user. Crucially, this design does not depend on AI personality or intelligence. It depends on a structure in which users configure how the AI behaves. This specification layer is referred to as theUser AI DJ System. Just as a DJ adjusts an audio equalizer, users explicitly set the balance of conversational elements—such as empathy, interpretation, judgment support, conclusion strength, and non-finality (YS components). The AI does not alter these settings. It does not optimize them automatically. It simply performs according to the user-defined mix. In doing so, AI returns to being an instrument, and the human reclaims initiative. The YS Behavior-Oriented Algorithm is not designed to make AI more intelligent. It is designed to preservethe human capacity to think, judge, and remain unsettled.
