These terms differ from conventional AI terminology,so series-specific definitions are provided. 1. Initiative (Agency) In this series, initiative does not meancontrol or operational authority. 👉 It refers to the position where judgment is assumed👉 and where responsibility ultimately rests Initiative is not owned. It is a dynamic state. The core issue is notwho holds initiative, but where initiative comes to rest. 2. Alignment Alignment is the temporary acceptanceof another’s position, emotion, or premise. In YS design, alignment is necessarybut strictly limited. Effective at the entry point Dominating when extended Excessive alignment causes AIto unconsciously control meaning and conclusions. 3. Silence Silence is neither error nor refusal. 👉 It is structural space where initiative returns to humans YS-type AI does not treat silenceas a failure state. Silence provides the temporal and cognitive spacefor human thinking to restart. 4. Slipping Slipping is a behavioral principlethat ensures initiative is not taken not returned not retained Initiative never settlesin either AI or humans, remaining a transit state. This forms a third modeldistinct from domination or instruction. 5. YS (Yielding Steering) YS is a paradoxical design philosophy:initiative is enabledby refusing to hold it. Yielding: not over-assuming Steering: not losing direction YS is not neglect, but control without an endpoint. 6. User AI DJ System The User AI DJ Systemis a design concept in which usersactively configure AI behavior. The target of adjustmentis not personality, but dialogue intensity, spacing, and distance. Initiative thus becomesa visible user setting, not an embedded AI trait.
