Abstract

This is the dataset for Prey speed and pattern independently reduce detectability in jumping spiders For a complete overview, see the 'README' file. DATA FILES AND VARIABLESThe data files are listed in the folder 'Data'. There is one folder and two CSV files in total:# Spectrometry (folder)# JND between models and background (CSV)# Portia_response (CSV) Please refer to 'README_DATA' for more details. CODE SCRIPTS AND WORKFLOWThe R codes for statistical analyses and figures are listed in the folder 'Codes'. There are three R code files in total:# Visual_modelling# JND plots_models vs background# Portia_response Please refer to 'README_CODES' for more details. SOFTWARE VERSIONS1. Spectral reflectance data was collected using an Ocean Optic USB4000 spectrometer with a tungsten halogen light source and DH-2000 deuterium. 2. Images were calibrated and analyzed using the image calibration and analysis (MICA) toolbox (Troscianko and Stevens, 2015) in ImageJ 1.54 (Schneider et al., 2012). 3. The data was analysed with R version 4.4.2.
