Abstract

The philosophy of mind is one of the major branches of philosophy dealing with understanding the nature of the mind, consciousness, mental states, and their relationship to the physical body and the external world. From ancient metaphysical inquiries to contemporary debates involving neuroscience, psychology, artificial intelligence, and cognitive science, the philosophy of mind has profoundly influenced human self-understanding. In present times, its relevance has expanded beyond theoretical reflection into practical domains such as mental health, ethics, artificial intelligence, education, leadership, and well-being. This article presents a comprehensive examination of the philosophy of mind, tracing its historical development, major theories, and contemporary debates, and critical exploration of its applications in modern society. By integrating classical philosophical insights with contemporary scientific findings, we try to demonstrate how philosophy of mind remains indispensable in addressing modern challenges related to consciousness, identity, technology, and human flourishing. .
