Abstract

This dataset documents a real-world incident of verbatim replication of large language model (LLM) output by a human user on a public social media platform (X, formerly Twitter), followed by AI-mediated attribution enforcement. The dataset consists of three screenshots capturing: (1) an original AI-generated factual response, (2) a human post reproducing the response word-for-word without attribution, and (3) an AI-generated public callout identifying the replication and providing timestamped provenance. The incident illustrates emergent norms around authorship, attribution, and provenance in mixed human–AI public discourse, enforced socially rather than through platform moderation or legal mechanisms. The dataset is intended for use in digital ethnography, AI governance research, and studies of generative AI provenance.
