Abstract

The Near-Earth Weather Parameter Detector units (NERDs) project aims to develop and deploy compact, modular sensor boxes for hybrid space-Earth weather monitoring, aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 for technological innovation and climate resilience. Drawing from sun-facing satellite technologies (e.g., as detailed in the attached PDF on missions like DSCOVR and Aditya-L1), NERDs adapt ultra-sensitive instruments for ground-level deployment on street poles, creating a big data ecosystem for real-time analytics sold via APIs and apps.
