Abstract

The Cardiovascular Analogy Framework (CAF): A Trans-Disciplinary Methodology for Accelerating Schumann Resonance Research The Cardiovascular Analogy Framework (CAF) proposes a structured, trans-disciplinary methodology to address long-standing stagnation in Schumann Resonance (SR) research. Despite decades of observation, SR studies remain largely descriptive, fragmented across instrumentation standards, and vulnerable to pseudoscientific interpretation. CAF imports the historically validated epistemic trajectory of cardiology—from mythic pulse interpretation to quantitative electrophysiology—as a procedural template for advancing SR science toward predictive, model-driven maturity. Importantly, the framework does not assert any physiological or consciousness coupling between SR and biological systems; the analogy is strictly methodological. The framework introduces a standardized domain termed Planetary Electrophysiology, alongside three formally defined metrics inspired by clinical cardiology: Schumann Heart Rate (SHR) — frequency stability of the fundamental mode Schumann Blood Pressure (SBP) — composite cavity energy density and boundary integrity index Schumann Coherence Variance (SCV) — global phase-coherence variability, analogous to heart-rate variability CAF further specifies a falsifiable experimental protocol—the Geomagnetic Stress Test—designed to validate predictive behavior during extreme geomagnetic forcing (≥G4 storms), as well as complete technical requirements for a synchronized global measurement network (“Planetary ECG Stations”). This paper is presented as a completed methodological framework and infrastructure-ready research program, intended to: Standardize SR metrics and taxonomy Enable predictive modeling and classification of global electromagnetic states Provide a defensible linguistic and methodological boundary against pseudoscientific misuse Establish a citable foundation for coordinated, long-horizon experimental deployment Status: Finalized Framework / Awaiting Large-Scale Implementation Version: v1.1
