Abstract

This edited volume presents a thoughtfully curated collection of scholarly and creative contributions exploring marine biodiversity, ocean sustainability, and human–ocean relationships. Developed through an open call and subsequent editorial review, the book brings together original research articles alongside philosophical perspectives, reflective essays, critical reviews, and creative expressions including poetry. The volume bridges science and the humanities by examining marine ecosystems, plastic pollution, conservation challenges, and sustainability not only through empirical research, but also through ethical inquiry, cultural reflection, and artistic interpretation. Together, these diverse contributions highlight the ecological, social, and philosophical dimensions of ocean health and humanity’s responsibility toward marine environments. By integrating scientific analysis with reflective and creative voices, this book offers a holistic understanding of contemporary marine issues. It serves as a unique resource for researchers, educators, students, environmental practitioners, and readers interested in interdisciplinary approaches to ocean studies, environmental ethics, and sustainability discourse.
