ΔΦ FIELD GEOMETRY OF WEED EMERGENCE v4.0 Predictive Electrostatic Mapping of Gradient Collapse Zones in Soil
Abstract
This Version 4.0 paper expands the Mitchellian ΔΦ Framework into the domain of weed science and non-chemical agronomy, redefining weed emergence as a response to electrostatic Gradient Collapse Zones (GCZs) within soil tension fields. Using the Mitchell Equation (ΔΦ = ρ × v), the paper models how soil disruptions, edge effects, and microbial depletion create low-tension electrostatic “soft spots” that invite opportunistic bloom behavior. Simulations of ΔΦ topography validate the emergence of GCZs along furrows, cracks, and capillary troughs—mirroring real-world weed clustering. This preprint offers a falsifiable, predictive, and non-invasive alternative to chemical herbicide models. Citing recent peer-reviewed studies in electrified soil dynamics, plant-field interactions, and bioelectric germination, it proposes experimental validation paths using soil probes and impedance surveys. This work positions ΔΦ field geometry as a viable new foundation for sustainable weed control and regenerative agricultural planning.
