Integrating Psychotherapy And Librarianship Towards Promoting Holistic Well-Being Through Digital Libraries
Abstract
Digital libraries are increasingly recognized as pivotal platforms for promoting holistic well-being through the integration of psychotherapy and librarianship. This study adopts a conceptual research design, relying on documentary analysis of peer-reviewed literature, institutional reports, and policy documents published between 2020 and 2025. The paper examines how digital libraries function as tools for mental health support, education, and community outreach by providing access to self-help literature, scholarly mental health resources, and interactive multimedia content. Central to this process is collaboration between librarians and mental health professionals to ensure that curated resources are credible, ethical, and responsive to diverse user needs. Digital libraries also provide safe and inclusive environments where users can access sensitive information privately and engage in online wellness initiatives. The study further highlights the importance of continuous training for librarians in mental health literacy, positioning them as key agents in promoting community well-being. Ultimately, digital libraries bridge the gap between information access and mental health support, emerging as effective instruments for holistic individual and societal development.
