Abstract

This paper presents a comparative and functional analysis of the Egyptian principle of Maat and Kabbalistic frameworks of repair, treating them as sequential strategies for stabilizing meaning under uncertainty rather than as competing metaphysical doctrines. The argument frames conservation-based stability as effective under predictable historical regimes and repair-based stability as adaptive when rupture becomes structural. Emphasis is placed on operational roles—coordination, continuity, and uncertainty management—while explicitly avoiding claims of direct historical transmission or theological equivalence. Positioned as a methodological extension of prior work on premature explanatory closure, the paper interprets cosmologies as civilizational technologies of meaning rather than belief systems to be validated or refuted.
