Abstract

This empirical study explores the role of accounting standards in enhancing corporate transparency within the context of Bihar, India. Using secondary data from corporate financial reports and interviews with industry stakeholders, the study examines the adoption patterns of Ind AS and IFRS and their impact on financial reporting quality and transparency. The findings reveal that sectors such as manufacturing and services exhibit stronger adoption of these standards, leading to improved transparency and stakeholder trust. However, challenges remain in sectors like agriculture and construction, where adherence to global standards is limited. The study recommends focused regulatory efforts and capacity-building initiatives to foster wider adoption of international accounting standards in Bihar.
