The Nine-Piece Puzzle: The Master Plan of Oak Island by Jerald Lee Harrah Jr.
Abstract
Abstract For over two centuries, Oak Island has been framed as a failed treasure hunt centered on a mythical “Money Pit.” This paper proposes a fundamentally different interpretation: Oak Island was not designed to hide treasure, but to function as a concealed, highly sophisticated naval logistics and engineering complex. By examining nine distinct but interconnected features across the island, a coherent master plan emerges—one rooted in maritime operations, resource management, mechanical engineering, and long-term occupation. When viewed as a system rather than isolated anomalies, Oak Island transforms from legend into infrastructure.
