Fisher Information Geometry and Conditional Implementation Costs of Self-Referential Calibration
Abstract
A learned way of reading the world can cease to fit its own instrument. We ask how the history that formed a self-frame can also diagnose its drift, price further evidence and maintain the body that makes reading possible. Even record laws delay detection and leave the correction's sign unresolved. A scalar Gaussian comparison gives an all-policy long-run cost for keeping up, with continuous-precision attainment under stated conditions. A bounded acting model then makes bodily access part of the problem: during disability the model is held, and an event kernel propagates it to the next acquired reading. Retained body history strictly raises harvest in a declared task. At positive gain and sign drift, legally acquired histories with exactly equal sign confidence can require opposite paid repairs. Two moments price the last invocation; another moment can matter to continued enquiry. These are distinct causal uses of one acquired model. Complete ledgers, proofs, finite-filter bounds and separate numerical realizations are retained in the appendices; they do not combine into an indefinitely renewed apparatus or an experience criterion. Main and Appendices PDFs are supplied separately, with full sources and scientific supplements in the accompanying ZIP.
