Abstract

Abstract We propose a fundamental reformulation of time as a dynamic, emergent scalar field—the Temporal Field (T). This paper presents a rigorous mathematical derivation showing how this field emerges from the foundational principles of non-relativistic Quantum Mechanics. We begin with the Schrödinger equation and define a Temporal Field Operator ( T ^ ) corresponding to local kinetic energy density. We introduce two fundamental postulates that define the thermodynamic properties of this field: The classical field T is the definition of local thermodynamic temperature, linking it directly to Entropy (S). The field obeys a linear equation of state P=c s 2 T introducing a new fundamental constant, c s , the speed of sound within the field. Using these postulates and the methods of hydrodynamic closure and linearization, we derive the Generalized Temporal Flow Equation (GTFE)—a wave equation governing the field's dynamics. The theory yields a static Poisson equation (∇ 2 T=Source), defining geometry and proposing that Gravity is the gradient of this field (g∝−∇T). Key Theoretical Results: Crucially, we demonstrate that Newton’s Law of Universal Gravitation (F=GmM/r 2 ) is not fundamental but arises naturally as an Entropic Force acting on test masses within this thermal time field. Furthermore, the framework provides a thermodynamic resolution to the Baryon Asymmetry problem via CPT violation and offers a natural explanation for Cosmic Expansion (Dark Energy) as a repulsive temporal gradient . Experimental Verification: We conclude by proposing a novel table-top experiment—The Afroz Experiment—utilizing a modified Mach-Zehnder Interferometer with an entropy chamber. This setup is designed to detect the predicted phase shift caused by entropy-induced temporal gradients, offering a direct method to falsify the theory and measure the coupling constant of emergent gravity .
