XREALISM®: Admissibility Before Behavior — Architectural Foundations for Pre-Existence Safety in AI Systems
Abstract
This work introduces XREALISM®, an architectural and ontological framework for AI and agentic systems in which admissibility is defined before behavior. Unlike implementation-level safety patterns that constrain actions after systems are instantiated, XREALISM defines a pre-existence admissibility layer (ΣE) that determines which internal states, transitions, and escalations are allowed to exist at all. The framework includes a protected core (Ψₙ), explicit input/output boundaries, and enforced separation prior to behavior, analogous to safety-critical architectures used in avionics, rail signaling, FPGA systems, and medical devices. This document serves as a prior art disclosure, establishing the conceptual, architectural, and operational foundations of admissibility-first system design, without revealing protected implementation details or internal logic.
