A Quantum Approach to Knowledge: Process, Relationality, and the Transformation of the Worldview
Abstract
This article argues that the transition from classical to contemporary conceptions of reality—spanning post-Hegelian philosophy, twentieth-century physics, and contemporary artificial intelligence—marks a fundamental ontological shift from substance-based metaphysics to process-oriented relationality. Drawing on G. W. F. Hegel’s philosophy of history and Alfred North Whitehead’s process philosophy, the paper interprets relativity theory, quantum mechanics, and artificial intelligence as mutually reinforcing expressions of a worldview in which becoming replaces static being. The central thesis is that artificial intelligence constitutes not merely a technological development but a novel configuration of rationality that intensifies prehensive processes and challenges anthropocentric accounts of intelligence. The article concludes by outlining the ethical implications of an open, non-deterministic cosmos in which human agents function as co-creators rather than passive observers. Keywords: process philosophy; Hegel; Whitehead; quantum mechanics; artificial intelligence; ontology; becoming
