LA CULTURA DOMINICANA COMO SOFT POWER: ESTRATEGIAS DE EXPANSIÓN E INFLUENCIA GLOBAL EN EL CONTEXTO DEL AUGE HISPANO
Abstract
This Master’s thesis analyzes the role of Dominican culture as a tool of soft power in the international arena, focusing on strategies of cultural expansion and global influence within the context of the contemporary Hispanic cultural boom. The research explores the relationship between cultural production, migration, cultural diplomacy and public policy, examining how cultural practices contribute to the construction of international narratives and national image. Through a qualitative and interdisciplinary approach, the study draws on cultural studies, migration studies and international relations to analyze institutional initiatives, cultural policies and transnational cultural dynamics linking the Dominican Republic with its diaspora, particularly in Spain. The thesis highlights the strategic potential of culture as a mechanism for international projection, social cohesion and symbolic influence, contributing to current debates on soft power, cultural diplomacy and migration in Latin America and the Caribbean.
