Les erreurs et les incohérences du Dr Ibrahima Mbengue sur la biologie évolutive
Abstract
This article provides a critical analysis of the book Les incroyables erreurs de l’humanité (2022), written by socio-anthropologist Ibrahima Mbengue, which claims to challenge the foundations of evolutionary theory. Although evolution represents the cornerstone of modern biology and is supported by a strong scientific consensus, the author argues that it derives from an imaginary narrative turned into science and that recent genetic findings undermine its validity. Our assessment demonstrates that his reasoning relies on conceptual misunderstandings, biased data selection, non-specialized sources, and persuasive rhetoric rather than evidence-based argumentation. The work merely recycles outdated objections that have long been refuted, without offering any credible alternative framework or engaging with current biomolecular research. We contend that these shortcomings stem from a limited understanding of evolutionary processes and from a pseudo-scientific approach. The aim of this paper is to highlight these weaknesses and reaffirm the empirical robustness of evolutionary theory, as well as the necessity of scientific rigor in public debates about human origins.
