Abstract

String theory and its extensions achieve remarkable internal consistency and reproduceknown low–energy physics, yet rely on the introduction of additional spatial dimensions whosephysical interpretation remains elusive. In this paper we propose that these additional degrees offreedom are more naturally understood as resolution classes rather than literal extra dimensions. We introduce an explicit resolution–refinement operator that replaces geometric extension withmulti–level integration, preserving all existing mathematics while providing a coherent causalinterpretation. Compactification, dualities, and the emergence of eleven dimensions in M–theoryare reinterpreted as manifestations of resolution traversal rather than hidden spatial structure.
