A Geometric Perspective on Atomic Structure and Chemical Bonding
Abstract
Standard Quantum Mechanics (SQM) successfully describes atomic behaviors using probabilistic wavefunctions. However, the physical intuition behind integer orbital capacities and specific bond energies often relies onabstract mathematical concepts. In this paper, we explore a deterministic hypothesis based on Lattice-ContinuousMonism (LCM), modeling the vacuum as a hyper-rigid lattice of Truncated Octahedra. We demonstrate that:(1) Orbital capacities correspond to the topological features of the lattice unit cell; (2) Bond energies are derivedab initio using the ”Vector Lattice Bonding Law”. By calculating the geometric dot product of integer lattice vectors (⃗vbond vs. ⃗vstrut), we derive an intrinsic convergence angle of ≈ 15.8◦. We further propose that theslightly tighter angle observed in triple bonds (≈ 15.4◦) results from a ”Lattice Pinch Effect” due to stress concentration. This geometric model predicts bond energy ratios with high precision (Error < 0.2%), suggesting thatchemical bonds may be vector sums of lattice tension.
