Abstract

This paper formalizes the relationship between two distinct regulatory failure frameworks: Parasitic Regulation and Script Formation Under Agency Collapse, which explains adult-onset coercive or harmful behavior reinforced by relief following externalized regulation, and Attachment Failure, Survival Calibration, and the Developmental Misclassification of Psychopathy and Borderline Personality Disorder, which explains psychopathy-like and borderline-like presentations as outcomes of maladaptive persistence of survival-oriented cognition following repeated failure of attachment repair. Although both frameworks address harm, dominance, and repetition, they are not interchangeable. They differ in timing of onset, reinforcement mechanism, regulatory failure locus, and intervention leverage points. This paper establishes explicit boundaries, exclusion criteria, and a procedural model-selection decision tree to prevent conceptual overreach and misuse. The purpose of this work is not synthesis into a single theory, but preservation of model hygiene through non-substitutability. It is intended for analytic, forensic, and preventive use rather than diagnosis or treatment.
