Abstract

This repository contains a preliminary version of Damage Detective, a research software developed within the PRIN 2022 AIDaBIM project (NextGenerationEU – PNRR). The release is intended to showcase the two case studies of the project rather than to provide a fully configurable or final software product. The software implements a fully automatic algorithm for the damage assessment of historic masonry churches, integrating H-BIM models, crack data, and failure-mechanism identification. The tool processes BIM models exported in IFCXML format, automatically identifies church macroelements, classifies crack patterns, detects collapse mechanisms according to Italian guidelines, and computes local and global damage indices. The purpose of this release is to document and disseminate the scientific outcomes of the AIDaBIM project. It is not intended as the final public release of the Damage Detective software. To launch the software, unzip the archive and run the LAUNCHER files with the .bat extension.
