하이브리드 경추 척수 게이트웨이 프레임워크_ SDS-C7 LINK 시스템 – 차세대 양방향 뇌-컴퓨터 인터페이스를 위한 비침습적 대안
Abstract
Abstract Brain-computer interfaces (BCI) have advanced significantly in restoring motor and sensory functions for patients with severe neurological disorders. However, invasive cortical implants carry surgical risks and long-term stability issues, while non-invasive EEG suffers from degraded signal quality. This paper proposes the SDS-C7 LINK system. It utilizes the cervical spinal cord at level C7 as a minimally invasive gateway. A gold-graphene-hydrogel composite formulation is administered to the C7 dermal layer, inducing self-assembly into peripheral nerves to directly capture descending motor intentions and ascending sensory signals. Multimodal fusion of C7 spinal signals with scalp EEG enables bidirectional closed-loop communication, with potential applications in rehabilitation, human augmentation, and futuristic mobility (e.g., thought-driven hypercar control). Drawing on transcutaneous spinal cord stimulation (tSCS) priming studies and recent peripheral nerve interface cases, this system offers a safer and more accessible alternative to highly invasive approaches such as Neuralink N1. System design, expected advantages, technical challenges, and validation pathways are discussed in detail.
