The SATOR Matrix - CP Violation and Gauge Unification from the Golden Field: The CKM Phase as a Galois Angle, Icosahedral Route to the Standard Model, and Holonomy Breaking
Abstract
This paper identifies the CKM CP-violating phase with a canonical angle of the golden field — the Galois angle, defined by the asymmetry between the two real embeddings of the golden ratio. The predicted value lies within the current experimental uncertainty of the PDG measurement and reproduces the observed Jarlskog invariant when combined with the measured mixing angles. A geometric route connects pentagonal symmetry to the Standard Model gauge group: icosahedral symmetry leads to the McKay correspondence with the exceptional Lie algebra, which contains the grand unified group, which in turn breaks to the Standard Model through a Hosotani mechanism on a fivefold cycle. Each step relies on standard mathematical results; whether Nature physically realises the chain is a separate empirical hypothesis, and the paper carefully separates rigorous theorems from conjectural identifications. The five-sector gauge algebra is constructed explicitly, the Hosotani vacuum selection is derived on the fivefold cycle, and a portal alignment criterion is formulated for the symmetry breaking pattern. A detailed roadmap addresses strong CP consistency, mixing angle predictions, and cosmological baryogenesis as the developments needed to turn the arithmetic coincidence into a dynamical derivation.
