Algorithme du Quiproquo : Analyse Computationnelle de la Dynamique Spatio-Temporelle dans le Théâtre de Georges Feydeau
Abstract
This critical synthesis article explores the structural and spatio-temporal mechanics of Georges Feydeau’s vaudeville theatre through the lens of artificial intelligence. It posits that Feydeau’s plays—long described as a flawless ―clockwork‖ of comedic precision—can be understood as algorithmic systems in which characters function as data units, doors act as binary operators, and the stage operates as a computational processor. Using AI modeling and simulation, the study decodes the underlying logic of Feydeau’s orchestrated chaos, revealing a deterministic architecture where every entrance, exit, and collision follows a programmable, predictive pattern. The analysis demonstrates how AI can not only map the ―comic algorithm‖ of Feydeau’s works but also stress-test its fragility, identifying critical breaking points where timing errors would collapse the entire dramatic system. Furthermore, the article examines the possibility of procedurally generating Feydeau-esque plots through AI, while acknowledging the limitations of computational creativity in capturing the human absurdity, social satire, and rhythmic genius that define his comedy. Ultimately, this interdisciplinary approach reframes Feydeau not merely as a master of farce, but as a visionary precursor to algorithmic thought— a playwright who, a century before the digital age, encoded human behavior into a precise, rule-based theatre of constrained freedom.
