In reality,it feels like relief. Relief from thinking.Relief from choosing.Relief from responsibility. This is why it spreads so quickly. When AI removes friction,it also removes the momentwhere humans must pause and ask: “Is this my decision?” Unlimited access creates a subtle shift.Judgment becomes optional.Delegation becomes default. In cultural narratives such as Astro Boy,ease was never the promise. Power existed, but it demanded care. Modern systems invert this. They promise ease first, and consequences later—often to someone else. “Free” hides cost.“Unlimited” hides scale.Together, they hide impact. Once accustomed to this comfort, any form of friction feels like regression. Pricing feels unfair.Limits feel restrictive.Education feels slow. But this reaction is the signal. It reveals how deeplyjudgment has already been outsourced. The preference for “free and unlimited”is not about entitlement. It is about fatigue. People do not choose thoughtlessnessbecause they reject responsibility, but because systems have trained themto associate responsibility with pain. Reintroducing limits, therefore,is not punishment. It is recovery. The goal is not to make AI harder to use. The goal is to make choice visible again. Disclaimer This section analyzes psychological and structural incentivesbehind preference for unrestricted AI access. It does not argue against accessibility, but against designs that erase human judgment.
