In the age of AI,that definition is insufficient. What must be taught firstis not how to use systems, but when not to rely on them. Speed rewards execution.Education preserves judgment. Without education, humans adapt to systems. With education, systems adapt to humans. This distinction is subtlebut decisive. In many environments today, people learn interfaces fasterthan they learn consequences. They know where to click, but not why a result appeared. Education must therefore shift focus: From operation to interpretation From answers to reasoning paths From efficiency to responsibility In narratives such as Astro Boy,learning was never limited to capability. It was about understandingwhat power should not be used for. Astro Boy’s innocencewas not ignorance. It was structured learning. He questioned orders. He hesitated. He learned through conflict. Modern AI usersare rarely given this space. They are trained to trust outputs, not to interrogate them. If education does not intervene here, speed will define normsbefore understanding ever arrives. And once norms harden, they are difficult to unlearn. Education, then,is not a supporting feature. It is the brake systemof technological civilization. Disclaimer This section discusses education as a structural necessityfor preserving human judgment in AI-mediated environments. It does not prescribe curricula, but outlines conceptual priorities.
