This is misleading. AI does not need to feel humans.Humans do not need AI to agree with them. Understanding emergeswhen roles are correctly separated. Humans understand AIwhen they know what the system can do,what it cannot do,and where its responsibility ends. AI “understands” humanswhen it is constrainedto support human judgmentwithout replacing it. This is not harmony. It is alignment. In many current deployments, the boundary is blurred. AI produces outputsfaster than humans can evaluate.Humans deferbecause evaluation is costly. At that point, understanding collapses into trust. Trust is efficient. But it is fragile. In the narratives of Astro Boy,the line was clear. Astro Boy possessed immense capability, yet moral authority remained human. When that boundary was violated, conflict emerged. Not because machines were evil, but because responsibility was misplaced. True understanding, therefore,is not intimacy. It is clear division of agency. When humans retain the right to decide, and AI retains the duty to assist, both sides function safely. When this balance holds, speed becomes optional.Power becomes manageable.Education becomes meaningful. Only thendoes coexistence stop being a sloganand become a structure. Disclaimer This section defines “understanding”as a structural relationship, not a psychological or emotional state. It focuses on role clarity and responsibility.
