Abstract

Deep learning has emerged as one of the most influential technologies shaping modern artificial intelligence, powering applications ranging from image recognition and natural language processing to healthcare diagnostics, financial analytics, and autonomous systems. At the heart of this transformation lies TensorFlow, an open-source framework that enables the efficient design, training, and deployment of scalable deep learning models. Building Deep Learning Models with TensorFlow is designed to provide a comprehensive and practical introduction to deep learning concepts while emphasizing hands-on model development using TensorFlow. This book bridges the gap between theoretical foundations and real-world implementation, enabling learners to understand not only how deep learning models work, but also how to build, train, evaluate, and optimize them effectively. The book begins with the fundamental principles of neural networks, including perceptrons, activation functions, loss functions, and optimization techniques. It gradually progresses to advanced architectures such as convolutional neural networks (CNNs), recurrent neural networks (RNNs), long short-term memory (LSTM) networks, and transformer-based models. Special emphasis is placed on TensorFlow’s Keras API, model customization, hyperparameter tuning, and performance evaluation. This text is intended for undergraduate and postgraduate students in computer science, data science, artificial intelligence, and related disciplines, as well as professionals and researchers seeking to apply deep learning techniques in practical domains. A basic understanding of Python programming and linear algebra is assumed, while complex concepts are explained with clarity, examples, and illustrative workflows. By combining conceptual clarity with implementation-focused learning, Building Deep Learning Models with TensorFlow aims to equip readers with the skills and confidence required to develop intelligent systems and contribute meaningfully to the rapidly evolving field of deep learning.
