Abstract

The authors explain that Figures 8C and 9D in references (1) and (2), respectively, derive from the same study which began in May 2018 (plasmid transfections) and concluded in September 2018 (confocal microscopy analysis). Microscopy images obtained from this single study were used in both figures. The yellow-framed panels in question (see accompanying Supporting information) represent control conditions from that study. Typically, the authors acquired two microscopy fields per well for each experimental and control condition. On occasion, the yellow-framed control microscopy fields have partially overlapped, leading to the perceived duplication. A detailed explanation is provided in the attached accompanying document (Supporting information). While reviewing the experimental details, the authors identified an error in the current article (2): the secondary anti-mouse antibody used was not donkey anti-mouse IgG Alexa Fluor 555 (Invitrogen; Cat. No. A31570), as listed in Supplementary Table S36, but goat anti-mouse IgG Alexa Fluor 568 (Invitrogen; Cat. No. A11004). This antibody correction does not affect the results, nor the discussion and conclusions presented in the article. The respective Author correction notice has been issued by Nucleic Acids Research.
