Preserving Cultural Heritage Through Technology-Enhanced History Education
Abstract
This study investigates the role of technology in preserving cultural heritage through history education, emphasizing digital and blended learning approaches. Drawing on Lee Bih Ni’s research from 2020 to 2026, the study examines the integration of e-learning platforms, AI tools, YouTube, and community-based interventions to enhance students’ historical understanding and engagement (Lee, 2020; Lee & Hassan, 2020; Lee, 2022; Lee, 2023a–c; Lee, 2024a–b; Lee, 2025a–b; Lee, Zulaikha, Munirah, & Nurdin, 2025; Lee, Andin, & Ompok, 2025; Lee, Li, & Cheng, 2025a–b; Lee, Shaafi, & Antin, 2026). Using a qualitative, descriptive methodology with thematic analysis of documented findings and case studies, the research identifies key strategies that foster inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, and cultural preservation in diverse educational contexts. The findings reveal that technology-mediated history education not only increases accessibility and engagement but also strengthens cultural awareness, bridging generational and geographical gaps in heritage transmission. This study contributes to understanding how innovative pedagogical practices can sustain cultural knowledge while adapting to 21st-century digital learning environments.
