Organ Withdrawal Theory of Hyperglycemia: A Systems Interpretation of Glucose Displacement
Abstract
This work introduces the Organ Withdrawal Theory of Hyperglycemia, a conceptual systems-level framework proposing that elevated circulating glucose may reflect progressive reduction of physiological glucose residency across major metabolic organs. Rather than interpreting hyperglycemia solely as excess production or insulin deficiency, this narrative suggests that functional withdrawal of glucose acceptance by muscle, liver, kidney, and central regulatory pathways under metabolic stress may lead to displacement of glucose into the vascular compartment. By reframing hyperglycemia as a distributed organ-level phenomenon, this perspective encourages physiology-first interpretation of glycemic elevation. This contribution is strictly conceptual and educational in nature and does not include diagnostic criteria, quantitative staging systems, or therapeutic protocols.
