Minimal Modular Lighting Object – Open Source Modular Lamp System
Abstract
This project presents an open-source modular lighting object based on a single repeated light module. The system allows linear, star-shaped and spatial configurations by connecting identical elements using simple mechanical connectors. Each suspension cable acts both as structural support and power supply for individual light modules. For larger installations, power is distributed locally under the modules and brought up through a single central cable. The outer shell can be made from plywood, plexiglass, aluminum composite (dibond) or other materials, allowing aesthetic customization. This project is published as an open-source design concept. Commercial reproduction by third parties requires attribution to the original author.
